Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how NitroConvert ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and tools. By using NitroConvert you agree to the practices described here. We designed this policy to be plain-spoken and complete — if anything is unclear, please contact us.
Information we do not collect
NitroConvert is engineered so that we collect as little as possible. The single most important thing to know is that images you process with our converter are never uploaded to our servers. All compression and conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. We have no way to view, store, share, or recover your images. There is no server-side image cache, no temporary cloud bucket, and no backup.
Information we do collect
We collect a small amount of standard technical information to keep the site running and to understand how it is used in aggregate. This may include your browser type and version, operating system, approximate geographic region (typically country level), referring URL, the pages you visit on NitroConvert, and the time of your visit. This information is collected automatically by our hosting provider and by privacy-respecting analytics. We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information unless you provide them voluntarily through the contact form.
Cookies and local storage
NitroConvert uses minimal browser storage. We use a local storage entry to remember your theme preference (Bright, Dark, or Cyberpunk) across visits. We may also use a small number of cookies for essential functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or social-media tracking. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings; doing so will simply reset your theme.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled on the site, they are configured to anonymize IP addresses and to avoid persistent user identifiers wherever possible. Analytics help us understand which pages are popular, how fast the site loads, and where users encounter problems. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to build individual profiles.
Contact form data
When you submit our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry. We retain contact messages only as long as needed to complete the conversation and any reasonable follow-up. You may request deletion of your message at any time.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to host the site, deliver assets, and (optionally) measure performance. These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy commitments. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
Children's privacy
NitroConvert is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port any personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little personal information by design, fulfilling most rights requests is straightforward — typically there is nothing to retrieve. To exercise a right, contact us using the details on the contact page.
GDPR compliance
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. The lawful bases on which we process information are: your consent (for optional analytics and the contact form), legitimate interests (for site security and aggregate analytics), and legal obligations (such as responding to lawful requests from authorities). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
Data security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we do collect. The site is served over HTTPS, and contact form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep the surface area as small as possible.
International transfers
Our hosting and analytics providers may store and process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your data during international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "last updated" date below indicates when the most recent changes were made. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for a reasonable period.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about how we handle information, can be sent through the contact page. We aim to respond within one business day.
